Enero® Piece of Cake Kit Quick Start Instruction Guide

We’re currently uploading a step-by-step video walkthrough.
In the meantime, follow the printed guide included with your kit, and shown below!

Get smooth, professional cake edges using a simple process:
Build → Chill → Fill → Chill → Peel

PART 1 - Build & Chill Your Cake

Step 1 - Prep Your Cake

  • Start with a chilled cake

  • Trim layers flat on top and bottom

  • Use the Acrylic Base as your size guide

  • Adjust the Stainless Ring slightly smaller than the base

  • Cut the cake layers using the Stainless Ring (i.e. for a 10-inch cake cut the layers down to 9 ¾-inch diameter)

Step 2 - Set Up the Ring

  • Place the Forming Sheet inside the Stainless Ring

  • Set both on top of the Acrylic Base

Step 3 - Stack the Cake

  • Add a generous amount of frosting to the base (acts as glue)

  • Place first cake layer and press lightly, but firmly

  • Add frosting, then next layer

  • Repeat until desired height

👉 Stop at least ¾ inch below the top of the Forming Sheet
👉 Do NOT frost the top yet

Step 4 - Chill to Set

  • Refrigerate 30+ minutes
    (or freeze ~15 minutes)

This keeps everything stable for the next step.

Step 5 - Remove the Ring

  • Remove the Stainless Ring

  • Gently peel off the Forming Sheet

  • Wash and save the Forming Sheet as you’ll use it again

PART 2 - Create the Smooth Outer Finish

Step 6 - Elevate the Cake

  • Place the Acrylic Mold on your work surface

  • Set a tall, narrow object in the center (glass, tumbler, etc.)

  • Place your cake (still on the base) on top of it

Step 7 - Insert the Liner

  • Wrap the Forming Sheet inside the Acrylic Mold

  • Ensure it sits flat at the bottom

  • The overlap tab should remain accessible at the top

Step 8 - Position the Cake

  • Raise the Acrylic Mold until it catches the Base with the cake

  • Remove the support (glass/tumbler)

  • Secure the liner tab

👉 You should now have an even gap between cake and liner

PART 3 - Fill, Chill, Reveal

Step 9 - Fill the Gap

  • Pipe or pour frosting into the space around the cake

  • Fully cover sides and top

Step 10 - Remove Air Pockets

  • Gently tap the mold on the counter

  • This helps level the frosting and remove bubbles

Step 11 - Chill Again

  • Refrigerate 3–4 hours (or overnight)

  • OR freeze 30–60 minutes max

Step 12 - Remove the Mold

  • Place cake back on a tall object

  • Pull the Acrylic Mold downward to release

  • Unclip and slowly peel off the liner

👉 If it sticks, chill longer

Step 13 - Final Touches

  • Use the Icing Scraper to smooth seams

  • Fill any gaps and smooth again if needed

Step 14 - Decorate & Finish

  • Use piping tips for designs

  • Add textures or patterns with the scraper

👉 Your cake is now ready to serve or decorate further

🔧 Troubleshooting

Liner sticks to cake
→ Not chilled long enough

Air gaps or holes
→ Tap more before chilling / refill and smooth

Uneven sides
→ Frosting too thick or unevenly applied
