Double Bubble 2-Part Epoxy Guide

Preparation and Safety

Always wear protective equipment, such as nitrile gloves and eye protection before handling any chemicals, including epoxy, polyurethanes, solvents, and other industrial adhesives and cleaners.

Have a mixing sheet available before you open the adhesive. Mixing sheets can be a piece of scrap metal, wood, tile, or plastic lids from an empty food container (do NOT reuse lids for food storage purposes afterwards). Plastic lids are ideal as once the unused adhesive has cured, it can be peeled away and disposed of easily.

Light sanding, or abrasion, of the surfaces being bonded may help improve the adhesion. Ensure the items you intend to adhere have been cleaned of any dirt, debris, oils, or other contaminates prior to applying any adhesives.

Step 1: Fold

Fold the pack together so that both sections are laying on top of one-another

Step 2: Snip

With the pack folded, use scissors or a utility knife on a cutting surface to cut the the top of the packet off.

Step 3: Squeeze

Using your fingers or a mixing ("popsicle") stick, squeeze the two parts of the packet onto your mixing sheet.

Step 4: Mix / Apply

Mix the two-part adhesive, for at least 30 seconds, using the mixing stick. Quickly apply the mixed adhesive with the mixing stick to the surfaces being bonded; then secure with clamps or other means until the work pieces are fully cured.

Cleanup

Any unused adhesive should be allowed to cure before being properly disposed. To clean up any adhesive that has flowed out of joints or onto unintended surfaces, reference the Manufacturer's Safety Data Sheet. Cured adhesive may need to be mechanically removed by sanding or chipping.
